Hamilton County is a one of the county from Ohio's 88 counties, located in Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 845303. Its population was estimated at 851494 in July 2008, It is the third largest in terms of population. The county extends throughout a territory of 412.78 sq mi (1069.1 square kilometre ), of which, 407.36 square miles (1055.06 square kilometre) of it is land and 5.42 square miles (14.04 square kilometre) of it is water, making it the 21st smallest by size in Ohio.

As of the census of 2000, there were 845303 residents, 346790 households, and 212459 families in the county. The population density was 2075.1 people per square mile (801.2/kmē), it would be the second most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Ohio. There were 373393 housing units at an average density of 916.6 per square mile (353.9/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.38 persons, and the average family size was 3.07 persons. In the county the population was spread out, with 25.8% under the age of 18, 9.6% from 18 to 24, 29.7% from 25 to 44, 21.5% from 45 to 64, and 13.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 109.8 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 115.2 females. The July 2008 population estimate is 851494, The racial makeup of the county was 610076 White, 212096 Black or African American, 1916 American Indian, 15781 Asian, 304 Native Hawaiian, and 11321 from two or more races.
