Hamilton County is a county located in the United States of Florida. As of 2000 the population was 13327. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 14348, It is the sixth least populous county in the U.S. state of Florida. The county comprises an area of 519.31 sq mi (1345.01 sq km), of which, 514.86 square miles (1333.48 sq km) of it is land and 4.45 square miles (11.53 sq km) of it is water, making it the sixth smallest by size in Florida.

As of the census of 2000, there were 13327 residents, 4161 households, and 2995 families in the county. The population density was 25.9 people per square mile (10/kmē), it is the tenth least populated county in terms of population density. There were 4966 housing units at an average density of 9.6 per square mile (3.71/kmē). The average household size was 2.6 and the average family size was 3.07. The population's age distribution was 23.5% under the age of 18, 10.8% from 18 to 24, 31.8% from 25 to 44, 22.8% from 45 to 64, and 11.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 135 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 145.4 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 14348, The racial makeup of the county was 62.29% White, 35.84% Black or African American, 0.5% American Indian, 0.3% Asian, 0.03% Native Hawaiian, and 1.02% from two or more races.
