Hackensack City is a city located in Bergen County, New Jersey, in the Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. In 2000, city's population was 42677 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 42804 in July 2008, giving it the 25th largest population among New Jersey. Its area is just over 4.31 square miles (11.16 sq km), of which, 4.12 square miles (10.67 sq km) of it is land and 0.19 square miles (0.49 sq km) of it is water, making it the 127th largest by size in New Jersey.
