Habersham County, Georgia is a county located in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 35902 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 43056, It is 46th most populous county in Georgia. The county extends throughout a territory of 279.2 sq mi (723.12 kmē ), of which, 278.17 square miles (720.46 kmē) of it is land and 1.03 square miles (2.67 kmē) of it is water, it is the 49th smallest in terms of geographical size.

For every 100 females there were 105.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 103 males. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 43056, The racial makeup of the county was 39320 White, 2104 Black or African American, 209 American Indian, 876 Asian, 72 Native Hawaiian, and 475 from two or more races.
