Gwinnett County is a county located in Georgia, in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. The population of county in 2000 stood at 588448 as per the Census data. In July 2008, its estimated population was 789499, It is second most populous county in Georgia. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 436.72 square miles (1131.1 sq km), of which, 432.73 square miles (1120.77 sq km) of it is land and 3.99 square miles (10.33 sq km) of it is water, it is the 50th largest by area in the U.S. state of Georgia.

The population density was 1359.9 people per square mile (525.06/kmē), it is the fifth most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Georgia. There were 209682 housing units at an average density of 484.6 per square mile (187.11/kmē). The average household size was 2.88 and the average family size was 3.28. The population's age distribution was 28.2% under the age of 18, 8.7% from 18 to 24, 37.5% from 25 to 44, 20.3% from 45 to 64, and 5.4% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 101.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.1 males. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 789499, The racial makeup of the county was 66.51% White, 21.6% Black or African American, 0.57% American Indian, 9.43% Asian, 0.14% Native Hawaiian, and 1.75% from two or more races.
