Guntersville City is a United States city located in the Marshall County, Alabama, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 7395 inhabitants. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 8422, giving it the 76th largest population among Alabama. It covers total area of 40.6 sq mi (105.15 sq km), of which, 23.65 square miles (61.25 sq km) of it is land and 16.96 square miles (43.93 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 17th largest by total area among Alabama. It is ranks third in the size of its inland waterways in Alabama.
