Gulf Shores City is a United States city located in the Baldwin County, Alabama, United States. It is home to over 5044 people (2000 census). The July 2008 population estimate is 10248, making it the 103rd most populous in Alabama. It covers total area of 23.02 sq mi (59.62 sq km), of which, 18.39 square miles (47.63 sq km) of it is land and 4.63 square miles (11.99 sq km) of it is water, it is the 39th largest in terms of geographical size. It is ranks eighth in the size of its inland waterways in Alabama.
