It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 10956, It is 94th most populous in Michigan. The city comprises an area of 3.7 mi˛ (9.58 sq km), of which, 2.16 square miles (5.59 sq km) of it is land and 1.54 square miles (3.99 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 204th largest by total area among Michigan.
