Greensville County is a county located in the United States of Virginia. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 11560 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 11955, making it Virginia's 27th smallest county. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 296.81 mi˛ (768.73 sq km), of which, 295.44 square miles (765.19 sq km) of it is land and 1.37 square miles (3.55 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 72nd largest by total area among Virginia's county.

The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 11955, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 38.9% White, 60.14% Black or African American, 0.14% American Indian, 0.42% Asian, 0.02% Native Hawaiian, and 0.38% from two or more races.
