Greensburg City is a one of the Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, located in Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. It is home to over 15889 people (2000 census). According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 15249, It is the 52nd most populous in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. The city has a total area of 4.24 sq mi (10.98 square kilometre), makes it the 138th largest by total area in Pennsylvania.

As of the census of 2000, there were 15889 people in the city, organized into 7144 households, and 3923 families living in the city. The population density was 3746.1 people per square mile (1446.38/kmē), it is the 266th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. There were 7734 housing units at an average density of 1824.1 per square mile (704.29/kmē). The average household size was 2.11 people, and the average family size was 2.85 people.
