Greenland City, Washington County, Arkansas is a city located in the Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. Greenland City had an official population of 907 in 2000. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 1238, It is the 216th largest by population in the U.S. state of Arkansas. The city comprises an area of 2.74 sq mi (7.1 kmē), of which, 2.73 square miles (7.07 kmē) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 kmē) of it is water, it is the 186th largest by area in the U.S. state of Arkansas.

As of the census of 2000, there were 907 residents, 335 households, and 260 families in the city. The population density was 331.9 people per square mile (128.15/kmē), giving it the 338th most densely populated city among the Arkansas. There were 361 housing units at an average density of 132.2 per square mile (51.04/kmē). The average household size was 2.71 persons, and the average family size was 3.08 persons. In the city the population was spread out, with 28.6% under the age of 18, 8.3% from 18 to 24, 31.2% from 25 to 44, 21.7% from 45 to 64, and 10.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 98.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94 males.
