Greene County, Ohio is a county located in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. Greene County had an official population of 147886 in 2000. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 159190, making it Ohio's 17th largest county. It covers total area of 416.21 mi˛ (1077.98 square kilometre), of which, 414.88 square miles (1074.53 square kilometre) of it is land and 1.34 square miles (3.47 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 24th smallest in terms of geographical size.

For every 100 females there were 94.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.4 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 159190, The racial makeup of the county was 88.77% White, 6.85% Black or African American, 0.3% American Indian, 2.32% Asian, 0.05% Native Hawaiian, and 1.71% from two or more races.
