Green County, Wisconsin is a county located in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 33647. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 36090, making it Wisconsin's 39th largest county. The county has a total area of 584.56 sq mi (1514 sq km), of which, 583.99 square miles (1512.53 sq km) of it is land and 0.58 square miles (1.5 sq km) of it is water, making it the 13th smallest by size in Wisconsin.

As of the census of 2000, there were 33647 residents, 13212 households, and 9215 families in the county. The population density was 57.6 people per square mile (22.24/kmē), giving it the 31st most densely populated county among the Wisconsin. There were 13878 housing units at an average density of 23.8 per square mile (9.19/kmē). The average household size was 2.51 people, and the average family size was 3.01 people. In the county Age distribution was 26.5% under the age of 18, 6.7% from 18 to 24, 29.2% from 25 to 44, 22.9% from 45 to 64, and 14.7% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 103.2 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 106.2 females. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 36090, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 35408 White, 159 Black or African American, 83 American Indian, 149 Asian, 1 Native Hawaiian, and 290 from two or more races.
