Grapevine City is one of the city of Tarrant, Denton and Dallas counties, Texas, located towards the Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 42059. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 50471, making it Texas's 57th largest. It is spread over 35.86 mi˛ (92.88 square kilometre), of which, 32.28 square miles (83.6 square kilometre ) of it is land and 3.58 square miles (9.27 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 60th largest by area in the U.S. state of Texas.

As of the census of 2000, there were 42059 residents, 15712 households, and 11318 families in the city. The population density was 1303 people per square mile (503.09/km˛), it is the 414th most populated city in terms of population density. There were 16486 housing units at an average density of 510.7 per square mile (197.18/km˛). It has an average household size was 2.66 persons, and the average family size was 3.14 persons.
