Grant County is a one of the county from Oregon's 36 counties, located in Western Region (Pacific) of United States. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 7935 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 6916, It is sixth least populous county in Oregon. It is spread over 4529.32 miē (11730.88 kmē), of which, 4528.6 square miles (11729.02 kmē ) of it is land and 0.71 square miles (1.84 kmē) of it is water, it is the seventh largest by area in the U.S. state of Oregon.

The population density was 1.8 people per square mile (0.69/kmē), it would be the fifth least densely populated county in the U.S. state of Oregon. The population's age distribution was 25.8% under the age of 18, 5.6% from 18 to 24, 24% from 25 to 44, 27.9% from 45 to 64, and 16.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 99.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.1 males. The July 2008 population estimate is 6916, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 6621 White, 8 Black or African American, 141 American Indian, 14 Asian, 5 Native Hawaiian, and 127 from two or more races.
