Grant County is a United States county located in the United States of Oklahoma. As of 2000 the population was 5144. Its population was estimated at 4450 in July 2008, It is seventh least populous county in Oklahoma. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1003.61 miē (2599.34 kmē), of which, 1000.56 square miles (2591.44 kmē) of it is land and 3.05 square miles (7.9 kmē) of it is water, it is the 21st largest by area in the U.S. state of Oklahoma.

As of the census of 2000, there were 5144 people in the county, organized into 2089 households, and 1455 families living in the county. The population density was 5.1 people per square mile (1.97/kmē), it is Oklahoma's seventh least densely populated county. There were 2622 housing units at an average density of 2.6 per square mile (1/kmē). The average household size was 2.42 persons, and the average family size was 2.95 persons. In the county Age distribution was 25.2% under the age of 18, 6.5% from 18 to 24, 24.1% from 25 to 44, 22.8% from 45 to 64, and 21.4% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 105.9 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 105.5 females. In July 2008, its estimated population was 4450, The racial makeup of the county was 94.54% White, 0.11% Black or African American, 3.28% American Indian, 0.18% Asian, 0.04% Native Hawaiian, and 1.84% from two or more races.
