Grant County is a one of the county from Kentucky's 120 counties, located in Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. In 2000, the population was 22384. In July 2008, its estimated population was 25549, It is 43rd most populous county in Kentucky. It has total area of 260.79 sq mi (675.44 square kilometre), of which, 259.93 square miles (673.22 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.86 square miles (2.23 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 39th smallest in terms of geographical size.

As of the census of 2000, there were 22384 people in the county, organized into 8175 households, and 6219 families living in the county. The population density was 86.1 people per square mile (33.24/kmē), it would be the 33rd most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Kentucky. There were 9306 housing units at an average density of 35.8 per square mile (13.82/kmē). The average household size was 2.72 persons, and the average family size was 3.1 persons. In the county the population was distributed as follows: 28.7% under the age of 18, 9.4% from 18 to 24, 31.5% from 25 to 44, 20.9% from 45 to 64, and 9.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 97.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.8 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 25549, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 24943 White, 184 Black or African American, 62 American Indian, 159 Asian, 24 Native Hawaiian, and 177 from two or more races.
