According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Grandfather Village is home to 73 inhabitants. Its area is just over 1.54 mi˛ (3.99 sq km), of which, 1.5 square miles (3.88 sq km) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 sq km) of it is water, it is the 433rd largest by area in the U.S. state of North Carolina.
