Grand Isle County, Vermont is a county of the United States of Vermont. In 2000, the population was 6901. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 7729, It is the second smallest county by population in the U.S. state of Vermont. It has total area of 194.67 miē (504.19 kmē), of which, 82.62 square miles (213.98 kmē) of it is land and 112.06 square miles (290.23 kmē) of it is water, making it Vermont's smallest county by total area. It is ranks first in the size of its inland waterways in Vermont.


According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 6901 people, 2761 households, and 1954 families living in the county. The population density was 83.5 people per square mile (32.24/kmē), it would be the third most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Vermont. There were 4663 housing units at an average density of 56.4 per square mile (21.78/kmē). The average household size was 2.5 people, and the average family size was 2.93 people. In the county the population was spread out, with 24.8% under the age of 18, 5.6% from 18 to 24, 28.7% from 25 to 44, 28.5% from 45 to 64, and 12.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 100.1 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 102.1 females.
