Graham County is a one of the county from North Carolina's 100 counties, located in Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 7993 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 7825, making it North Carolina's third smallest county. It is spread over 301.6 sq mi (781.14 kmē), of which, 292.07 square miles (756.46 kmē ) of it is land and 9.53 square miles (24.68 kmē) of it is water, giving it the 14th smallest by total area among North Carolina's county.

As of the census of 2000, there were 7993 people, 3354 households, and 2411 families living in the county. The population density was 27.4 people per square mile (10.58/kmē), it is North Carolina's fifth least densely populated county. There were 5084 housing units at an average density of 17.4 per square mile (6.72/kmē). The average household size was 2.35 persons, and the average family size was 2.82 persons. In the county Age distribution was 22% under the age of 18, 7.3% from 18 to 24, 25.2% from 25 to 44, 27.5% from 45 to 64, and 18% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 95.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.6 males. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 7825, The racial makeup of the county was 90.19% White, 0.56% Black or African American, 7.65% American Indian, 0.49% Asian, 0.01% Native Hawaiian, and 1.1% from two or more races.
