Grafton County is one of the 10 county of New Hampshire, located towards the Northeastern Region (New England) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 81743. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 85921, It is the fifth most populous county in the U.S. state of New Hampshire. The county spans an area of 1750.08 square miles (4532.69 square kilometre), of which, 1713.33 square miles (4437.5 square kilometre) of it is land and 36.75 square miles (95.18 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the second largest by area in the U.S. state of New Hampshire. It is ranks fourth in the size of its inland waterways in New Hampshire.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 81743 people, 31598 households, and 20266 families residing in the county. The population density was 47.7 people per square mile (18.42/kmē), it is the third least populated county in terms of population density. There were 43729 housing units at an average density of 25.5 per square mile (9.85/kmē). The average household size was 2.38 and the average family size was 2.9. The population's age distribution was 21.9% under the age of 18, 13.5% from 18 to 24, 27% from 25 to 44, 24.2% from 45 to 64, and 13.4% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 96.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.3 males. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 85921, The racial makeup of the county was 95.39% White, 0.89% Black or African American, 0.36% American Indian, 2.06% Asian, 0.03% Native Hawaiian, and 1.27% from two or more races.
