Grady County is a one of the county from Georgia's 159 counties, located in Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 23659 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 25115, It is Georgia's 72nd most populous county. The county encompasses an area of 460.34 mi˛ (1192.28 sq km ), of which, 458.12 square miles (1186.53 sq km) of it is land and 2.22 square miles (5.75 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 40th largest by total area among Georgia's county.

As of the census of 2000, there were 23659 people, 8797 households, and 6508 families residing in the county. The population density was 51.6 people per square mile (19.92/km˛), it is Georgia's 87th most densely populated county. There were 9991 housing units at an average density of 21.8 per square mile (8.42/km˛). The average household size was 2.66 and the average family size was 3.08. In the county the population was distributed as follows: 27.3% under the age of 18, 9% from 18 to 24, 27.9% from 25 to 44, 22.6% from 45 to 64, and 13.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 90.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 87.4 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 25115, The racial makeup of the county was 69.73% White, 28.13% Black or African American, 0.91% American Indian, 0.44% Asian, 0.03% Native Hawaiian, and 0.76% from two or more races.
