Gosper County, Nebraska is a county of the United States of Nebraska. It is home to over 2143 people (2000 census). As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 1926, It is 18th least populous county in Nebraska. The county has a total area of 462.74 mi˛ (1198.49 square kilometre), of which, 458.18 square miles (1186.68 square kilometre) of it is land and 4.57 square miles (11.84 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 15th smallest by total area in Nebraska.


As of the census of 2000, there were 2143 residents, 863 households, and 655 families in the county. The population density was 4.7 people per square mile (1.81/km˛), it is the 29th least populated county in terms of population density. There were 1281 housing units at an average density of 2.8 per square mile (1.08/km˛). It has an average household size was 2.42 persons, and the average family size was 2.83 persons. In the county the population was spread out, with 23.8% under the age of 18, 5.4% from 18 to 24, 24% from 25 to 44, 26% from 45 to 64, and 20.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 98.1 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 98.7 females.
