Gonzales City is a city located in the Ascension Parish, Louisiana, United States. It is home to over 8156 people (2000 census). Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 9390, It is Louisiana's 68th largest by population . The city comprises an area of 8.43 mi˛ (21.83 sq km), of which, 8.37 square miles (21.68 sq km) of it is land and 0.06 square miles (0.16 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 65th largest by total area among Louisiana.
