Gloucester County is a United States county located in the United States of New Jersey. It is home to over 254673 people (2000 census). Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 287860, It is 14th most populous county in New Jersey. The county encompasses an area of 336.92 square miles (872.62 sq km ), of which, 324.72 square miles (841.02 sq km) of it is land and 12.2 square miles (31.6 sq km) of it is water, it is the 12th largest by area in the U.S. state of New Jersey.

The population density was 784.3 people per square mile (302.82/kmē), it would be the 13th most densely populated county in the U.S. state of New Jersey. For every 100 females there were 93.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 90.2 males. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 287860, The racial makeup of the county was 85.74% White, 10.39% Black or African American, 0.21% American Indian, 2.3% Asian, 0.04% Native Hawaiian, and 1.33% from two or more races.
