The population of the census designated place was 554 as per the 2000 census data. It is the 101st most populous in the U.S. state of Alaska. It is spread over 114.86 mi˛ (297.49 square kilometre), of which, 114.11 square miles (295.54 square kilometre ) of it is land and 0.76 square miles (1.97 square kilometre) of it is water, making it Alaska's 59th largest by total area.
