Glencoe City is a city located in the Etowah and Calhoun counties, Alabama, United States. The population of city in 2000 stood at 5152 as per the Census data. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 5377, It is Alabama's 101st largest by population . Its area is just over 16.13 sq mi (41.78 sq km), of which, 16.07 square miles (41.62 sq km) of it is land and 0.05 square miles (0.13 sq km) of it is water, making it the 65th largest by size in Alabama.

As of the census of 2000, there were 5152 people in the city, organized into 2000 households, and 1525 families residing in the city. The population density was 320.6 people per square mile (123.78/kmē), it is 227th most densely populated city in Alabama. There were 2132 housing units at an average density of 132.7 per square mile (51.24/kmē). The average household size was 2.48 persons, and the average family size was 2.89 persons.
