Glen Dale City is a city located in Marshall County, West Virginia, in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. The city has a population of 1552 as per the 2000 census data. In July 2008, its estimated population was 1396, It is the 108th most populous in the U.S. state of West Virginia. The city comprises an area of 1.15 sq mi (2.98 sq km), of which, 0.8 square miles (2.07 sq km) of it is land and 0.35 square miles (0.91 sq km) of it is water, makes it the 133rd largest by total area in West Virginia. It is ranks 19 in the size of its inland waterways in West Virginia.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1552 people in the city, organized into 697 households, and 470 families living in the city. The population density was 1940.8 people per square mile (749.35/kmē), it is the 54th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of West Virginia. There were 757 housing units at an average density of 946.3 per square mile (365.37/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.23 persons, and the average family size was 2.75 persons. Age range in the city was well distributed with 19.3% under the age of 18, 5.9% from 18 to 24, 23% from 25 to 44, 28.1% from 45 to 64, and 23.7% who were 65 or older.
