Girard City, Ohio


Girard City is a city located in Trumbull County, Ohio, in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 10902 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 10069, It is the 171st largest by population in the U.S. state of Ohio. It covers total area of 6.6 sq mi (17.09 square kilometre), of which, 6.11 square miles (15.82 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.48 square miles (1.24 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 157th largest by total area in Ohio.

As of the census of 2000, there were 10902 people, 4631 households, and 2958 families living in the city. The population density was 1783.5 people per square mile (688.61/kmē), it would be the 374th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Ohio. In the city the population was distributed as follows: 23.3% under the age of 18, 7.8% from 18 to 24, 28.4% from 25 to 44, 22.1% from 45 to 64, and 18.4% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 88.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 84.9 males. The median age of the city's population was 39.3 years, The median age of males was 37 years, for females the median age was 41 years. The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 10421 White, 266 Black or African American, 28 American Indian, 38 Asian, 2 Native Hawaiian, 125 from two or more races and 22 Ohter races.
