Gillespie City, Macoupin County, Illinois is a city located in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. The city has a population of 3412 as per the 2000 census data. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 3182, making it Illinois's 393rd largest. The city encompasses an area of 1.45 sq mi (3.76 kmē), it is the 558th largest by area in the U.S. state of Illinois.
