Gilberton Borough is a one of the Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, located in Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 867 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 822, It is Pennsylvania's 934th largest by population . According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 1.46 square miles (3.78 kmē), of which, 1.43 square miles (3.7 kmē) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 kmē) of it is water, making it Pennsylvania's 537th largest by total area.
