Gilbert Town is a town located in Mingo County, West Virginia, in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. As per the 2000 census, town has a population of 417 inhabitants. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 387, making it West Virginia's 58th smallest. Its area is just over 1.09 sq mi (2.82 kmē), of which, 1.02 square miles (2.64 kmē) of it is land and 0.07 square miles (0.18 kmē) of it is water, making it the 137th largest by size in West Virginia.

The population density was 407.6 people per square mile (157.38/kmē), it is West Virginia's 42nd least densely populated town.
