Gilbert Town is a town located in the Lexington County, South Carolina, United States. As per the 2000 census, town has a population of 500 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 594, giving it the 94th smallest population among South Carolina. It covers total area of 2.33 sq mi (6.03 square kilometre), of which, 2.27 square miles (5.88 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.06 square miles (0.16 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 225th largest by area in the U.S. state of South Carolina.

As of the census of 2000, there were 500 residents, 181 households, and 148 families in the town. The population density was 220.7 people per square mile (85.21/kmē), it is the 70th least densely populated town in the U.S. state of South Carolina.
