Germany
Germany is a country located in Central Europe. It is bordered to the north by the North Sea, Denmark, and the Baltic Sea; to the east by Poland and the Czech Republic; to the south by Austria and Switzerland; and to the west by France, Luxembourg, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Because of its central location, Germany shares borders with more European countries than any other country on the continent. Germany covers an area of 357,108 square kilometres (137,880 sq mi), 0.24% of the total land area on Earth, having the fouth largest area among European Union members and ranked 62nd in the world. It is influenced by a temperate seasonal climate. Germany is a founding member of the European Union, part of the Eurozone since 1999 and with an estimated population of 82.22 million people, it is the most populous country in the European Union members and 14th in the world, giving the country an overall population density of about 230 people per sq km.

The population of Germany is 82,217,837 (2008), of which 41,943,545 is female and 40,274,292 is male, total population down 0.12 per cent over a year earlier. This was due to more deaths than births and a net inflow of residents. In 2008, the birth rate was 8.16 per 1000, lower than that of 8.96 per 1000 in 2007. The death rate is increase from 10.64 per 1000 in 2007 to 10.8 per 1000 in 2008. Nearly 13.72 percent of the population under the age of 15, down 1.4 per cent over a previous year. The proportion of people aged 65 and over rose from 19.80 per cent to 20.09 per cent. Correspondingly, the median age (aged 15-64) of the population fell from 66.30 to 66.19 over the same period. The ratio of people aged under 15 and aged 65 and over to the population of working age (aged 15-64), the overall dependency ratio, increased from 508 per 1000 in 2007 to 511 per 1000 in 2008, decline in the proportion of young persons aged under 15, which more than offset an increase in the proportion of older persons aged 65 and over in the same period. The Sex ratio of total population is 0.96 male(s)/female.
Germany is the largest economy in the Europe and European Union members, the fourth largest by nominal GDP in the world, and ranked fifth by GDP (PPP) in 2008. Its nominal GDP per capita is $44,660, similar the GDP per capita of other comparable European countries such as France and the United Kingdom, and is 35% below the Switzerland, it is ranked as the 19th highest economy by nominal GDP per capita, its GDP purchasing power parity (PPP) per capita is $35,442, ranked 21st among the world. It is the largest exporter and second largest importer of goods. Total GDP of Germany is $2.9 trillion, of which service sector contributes around 69.75%, industry 29.4%, and agriculture 0.85%. Its real annual growth rate is 2.9 in 2006. Its income of household was 20741 Euros per inhabitant in 2006, up 3.4 per cent over a previous year. The unemployment rate has recently decreased from 11.1% in 2005 to 7.5% in 2008.
Regarding to the national road network, in 2008 there were 644,480 km of serviceable roads in Germany, including 12,594 km of motorways. In 2007, about 46.57 million passenger cars (equal to 564 cars per 1,000 people) and 51.54 million road good vehicles circulated on the national road network. The national railway network, in 2008 totalled 40,953 km of which 19,857 km is electrified. The national inland waterways network comprised 7,476 km of navigable rivers and channells. In 2008 there were approximately 549 airports, carries 154 million passengers, up 5.58 per cent over a year earlier, including the two hubs of Frankfurt am Main Airport in Frankfurt (it is third busiest in Europe and the ninth busiest worldwide in 2008) and Munich "Franz Josef Strauss" Airport in Munich and 19 major seaports in Germany, including the seaport of Hamburg, that is the country largest and the second largest in the Europe. In 2008 Germany maintained a merchant fleet of 393 ships.
In 2007, 16.84 millions pupils and students, 20% of the total population, are in the education system. Of which, percentage of enrollment student are in, 15% pre-primary, 20% primary, 31% lower secondary, 17% higher secondary, 3% post secondary and 14% tertiary.
