Georgetown City, South Carolina is a city of the Georgetown County, South Carolina, United States. It is home to over 8950 people (2000 census). As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 8501, making it the 50th most populous in South Carolina. The city extends throughout a territory of 7.17 sq mi (18.57 square kilometre ), of which, 6.54 square miles (16.94 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.63 square miles (1.63 square kilometre) of it is water, making it South Carolina's 72nd largest by total area.
