George County is a county in the United States of Mississippi. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 19144 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 22406, making it Mississippi's 43rd largest county. The county spans an area of 483.63 sq mi (1252.6 sq km), of which, 478.29 square miles (1238.77 sq km) of it is land and 5.34 square miles (13.83 sq km) of it is water, making it the 27th smallest by size in Mississippi.
