Gentry County is a one of the county from Missouri's 115 counties and independent city, located in Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 6861 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 6185, making it the tenth least populous county in Missouri. It is spread over 491.81 mi˛ (1273.78 sq km), of which, 491.52 square miles (1273.03 sq km ) of it is land and 0.29 square miles (0.75 sq km) of it is water, making it Missouri's 27th smallest county by total area.

The population density was 14 people per square mile (5.41/km˛), it would be the 18th least densely populated county in the U.S. state of Missouri.
