Geary County is a county located in the United States of Kansas. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Geary County is home to 27947 inhabitants. It covers total area of 404.39 sq mi (1047.37 kmē), of which, 384.69 square miles (996.34 kmē) of it is land and 19.7 square miles (51.02 kmē) of it is water, making it the third smallest by size in Kansas. It is ranks third in the size of its inland waterways in Kansas.

For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.3 males. Its population was estimated at 31171 in July 2008, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 72.9% White, 17.84% Black or African American, 0.97% American Indian, 3.3% Asian, 0.44% Native Hawaiian, and 4.55% from two or more races.
