Gary City is a one of the McDowell County, West Virginia, located in Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. The city has a population of 917 as per the 2000 census data. The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 748, It is West Virginia's 164th largest by population . The city spans an area of 0.9 mi˛ (2.33 square kilometre), it is the 155th largest by area in the U.S. state of West Virginia.
