Garretson City is a one of the Minnehaha County, South Dakota, located in Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. In 2000, the population was 1165. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 1198, It is the 63rd most populous in the U.S. state of South Dakota. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.49 sq mi (3.86 kmē), of which, 1.48 square miles (3.83 kmē) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 kmē) of it is water, making it the 85th largest by size in South Dakota.
