Garfield City is one of the city of Bergen County, New Jersey, located towards the Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. Garfield City had an official population of 29786 in 2000. The July 2008 population estimate is 28971, making it the 42nd most populous in New Jersey. It covers total area of 2.19 square miles (5.67 kmē), of which, 2.13 square miles (5.52 kmē) of it is land and 0.06 square miles (0.16 kmē) of it is water, making it New Jersey's 272nd largest by total area.
