Gallatin City, Daviess County, Missouri is a city located in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. It is home to over 1789 people (2000 census). The July 2008 population estimate is 1730, making it Missouri's 267th largest. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.8 square miles (7.25 kmē), of which, 2.8 square miles (7.25 kmē) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 kmē) of it is water, makes it the 204th largest by total area in Missouri.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1789 people, 771 households, and 477 families living in the city. The population density was 640.1 people per square mile (247.14/kmē), giving it the 315th least densely populated city among the Missouri. The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 99.27% White, 0.06% Black or African American, 0.22% American Indian, 0% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, 0.39% from two or more races and 0.06% Other races.
