It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 16452, It is Texas's 144th largest by population . The city extends throughout a territory of 17.03 sq mi (44.11 sq km ), of which, 17 square miles (44.03 sq km) of it is land and 0.03 square miles (0.08 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 143rd largest by total area among Texas.
