Gainesboro Town is a one of the Jackson County, Tennessee, located in Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. The population of the town was 879 as per the 2000 census data. The town extends throughout a territory of 1.82 mi˛ (4.71 sq km ), of which, 1.56 square miles (4.04 sq km) of it is land and 0.26 square miles (0.67 sq km) of it is water, makes it the 105th smallest by total area in Tennessee.
