Fuquay-varina Town, Wake County, North Carolina is a town located in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. In 2000, town's population was 7898 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the town is 17002, making it North Carolina's 84th largest. It covers total area of 6.86 sq mi (17.77 sq km), of which, 6.83 square miles (17.69 sq km) of it is land and 0.03 square miles (0.08 sq km) of it is water, it is the 117th largest by area in the U.S. state of North Carolina.

As of the census of 2000, there were 7898 people in the town, organized into 3122 households, and 2127 families residing in the town. The population density was 1156 people per square mile (446.33/kmē), it is North Carolina's 151st most densely populated town. There were 3375 housing units at an average density of 494.1 per square mile (190.77/kmē). The average household size was 2.48 persons, and the average family size was 2.99 persons. In the town the population was distributed as follows: 27.3% under the age of 18, 8.2% from 18 to 24, 35.2% from 25 to 44, 16.3% from 45 to 64, and 13% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 89 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 84.5 males. The median age was 32.6 years, the median age of male residents at 31.1 and the median age of female residents at 34.3. The racial or ethnic makeup of the town was 5578 White, 1927 Black or African American, 32 American Indian, 38 Asian, Native Hawaiian, 91 from two or more races and 232 Ohter races.
