Fruita City is a city in the Mesa County, Colorado, United States. In 2000, the population was 6478. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 7418, It is the 73rd largest in terms of population. It covers total area of 6.02 sq mi (15.59 square kilometre), of which, 5.94 square miles (15.38 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.09 square miles (0.23 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 81st largest by area in the U.S. state of Colorado.

The population density was 1091 people per square mile (421.24/kmē), giving it the 174th most densely populated city among the Colorado.
