Fresno County is one of the 58 county of California, located towards the Western Region (Pacific) of United States. The population of the county was 799407 as per the 2000 census data. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 909153, making it the tenth most populous county in California. The county extends throughout a territory of 6017.42 square miles (15585.05 square kilometre ), of which, 5962.73 square miles (15443.4 square kilometre) of it is land and 54.7 square miles (141.67 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the sixth largest by area in the U.S. state of California.

For every 100 females there were 100.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 98.2 males.
