Fremont County is a United States county located in the United States of Idaho. In 2000, county's population was 11819 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 12551, giving it the 23rd largest population among Idaho's county. It is spread over 1895.59 square miles (4909.56 kmē), of which, 1866.76 square miles (4834.89 kmē ) of it is land and 28.84 square miles (74.7 kmē) of it is water, makes it the 17th largest by total area in Idaho. It is ranks ninth in the size of its inland waterways in Idaho.

The population density was 6.3 people per square mile (2.43/kmē), it is 28th most densely populated county in Idaho. There were 6890 housing units at an average density of 3.7 per square mile (1.43/kmē). The average household size was 2.96 persons, and the average family size was 3.43 persons. In the Fremont County, 33.1% of the population was under the age of 18, 9.3% were 18 to 24, 24.7% were 25 to 44, 20.4% were 45 to 64, and 12.4% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 105.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 105.8 males. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 12551, The racial makeup of the county was 12229 White, 27 Black or African American, 90 American Indian, 50 Asian, 8 Native Hawaiian, and 147 from two or more races.
