Fremont City is one of the city of Newaygo County, Michigan, located towards the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. The city has a population of 4224 as per the 2000 census data. The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 4195, It is 205th most populous in Michigan. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 4.61 mi˛ (11.94 sq km), of which, 3.33 square miles (8.62 sq km) of it is land and 1.28 square miles (3.32 sq km) of it is water, makes it the 158th largest by total area in Michigan.

As of the census of 2000, there were 4224 people in the city, organized into 1788 households, and 1141 families residing in the city. The population density was 1268.3 people per square mile (489.69/km˛), it is Michigan's 275th most densely populated city. There were 1943 housing units at an average density of 583.5 per square mile (225.29/km˛). The average household size was 2.34 persons, and the average family size was 2.97 persons. In the city the population is diverse age-wise, with 26.9% under the age of 18, 7.9% from 18 to 24, 25.2% from 25 to 44, 20.4% from 45 to 64, and 19.6% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 82.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 76.4 males. The median age of the city's population was 37.4 years, the median age of male residents at 34.6 and the median age of female residents at 39.3. The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 4080 White, 16 Black or African American, 21 American Indian, 42 Asian, 2 Native Hawaiian, 43 from two or more races and 20 Ohter races.
