Freeport Village is a city located in the Nassau County, New York, United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 43783 inhabitants. The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 43881, It is the 22nd most populous in the U.S. state of New York. The city encompasses an area of 4.83 square miles (12.51 kmē ), of which, 4.59 square miles (11.89 kmē) of it is land and 0.24 square miles (0.62 kmē) of it is water, giving it the 211th largest by total area among New York.

As of the census of 2000, there were 43783 people in the city, organized into 13504 households, and 9917 families residing in the city. The population density was 9531.3 people per square mile (3680.06/kmē), making it the 30th most densely populated city in New York. There were 13819 housing units at an average density of 3010.7 per square mile (1162.44/kmē). The average household size was 3.2 and the average family size was 3.65. In the city the population was distributed as follows: 26.4% under the age of 18, 9.1% from 18 to 24, 32.1% from 25 to 44, 22% from 45 to 64, and 10.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 92.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.3 males. The median age is 34.6 years, the median age of male residents at 33.1 and the median age of female residents at 35.9. The racial makeup of the city was 42.92% White, 32.57% Black or African American, 0.46% American Indian, 1.38% Asian, 0.05% Native Hawaiian, 5.41% from two or more races and 17.21% Other races.
